Getting More Women on the Water

Fractional boat share club Pure Latitude have tied up with the online members site Ladies wot yacht for this year’s Southampton boat show ladies’ day (18th September) to encourage more women sailors to get their kit on and get on the water.

All women sailors signing up to for Pure Latitude membership at the show will receive a set of free women’s oilskins from the Ladieswotyacht store as well as the chance to win 10 days sailing and other women’s sailing kit.

Pure Latitude will be showing their latest addition to their fleet of performance cruising yachts, the X37 Pure Attitude,  on berth 382.

Other yachts at their Hamble base includes a First 27.7, a Dufour 34 and a 6.5m RIB.  Using a points system, members can choose to sail any of the yachts.

 “All our members relish being able to skipper and choose their own crew and I think that’s been particularly appealing for our women members,” said managing director Martin Gray.

Membership of the Pure Latitude scheme operates through a points-based system, with annual subscriptions from £2,995 to £6,995.  The club takes responsibility for capital outlay and all the costs usually associated with ownership.
